About the Opportunity
We need a talented individual to fill the role of Sr. Logistics Specialist located in Dayton, OH. In this position, you will support our customer in the transition to a new Air Force (AF) logistics enterprise solution. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the research, analyses, and evaluations related to determining how the Air Force’s legacy logistics systems are to be subsumed by or continued, as part of the new AF Expeditionary Combat Support System (ECSS). In addition, the candidate will assist the Air Force in validating and then ensuring both critical requirements as well as best business practices are incorporated into ECSS. The successful candidate will be well-grounded in current AF logistics business processes and supporting legacy information systems; possess knowledge of data interfaces and relationships across these systems; and possess an enterprise perspective and the ability to understand, develop and evaluate technical solutions from the customer’s perspective. You will also have the ability to understand the Air Force’s logistics enterprise vision and the technologies that will support it. Your challenge will be to support the transition from stovepipe legacy to enterprise logistics processes. Major focus areas will include current logistics business processes, supporting information systems and their data.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 5 years of related experience. Additional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
- Operational knowledge and experience in current AF logistics business processes a must
- Experience in management of AF logistics information systems
- Familiarity with Enterprise Data Management Strategies
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written). Must be able to communicate with all levels of an organization and be able to translate technical concepts into a form that is understandable to a non-technical decision maker.
- Excellent planning, analysis and organizational skills.
- Candidates must be U.S. citizens and capable of acquiring a secret security clearance.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the commercial world implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool a plus.
- Familiarity with the Supply Chain Reference Model (SCOR), a plus.
- Familiarity with the GCSS-AF including the AFKS and the AF portal are desirable.
